SAVANNAH, GA – August 21, 2017 – Join Ogeechee Riverkeeper for a charity Pint Night at Green Truck Pub, 2430 Habersham St., from 5-11 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20.
Green Truck Pub will match any personal donations made by patrons as well as donate $1 for every draft purchased that night to Ogeechee Riverkeeper. Pint Night will feature drafts from Moon River Brewing Company and guests will get an early taste of the special Ogeechee Riverkeeper Ale, which Moon River brews for the nonprofit organization’s annual oyster roast fundraising event in November.
The donations received will go toward helping Ogeechee Riverkeeper accomplish its mission to protect, preserve and improve the water quality of the Ogeechee River Basin. Since Ogeechee Riverkeeper was formed following a merge between the Canoochee Riverkeeper and Friends of the Ogeechee River, the organization has focused on initiating educational campaigns to raise awareness of pollution, addressing illegal pollution discharged into the river and working to increase enforcement of environmental laws. Ogeechee Riverkeeper has also partnered with the Georgia Water Coalition to ensure clean water and protection of area natural resources.
Green Truck Pub was founded on the premise that the Savannah community deserves a casual place to eat and drink well while benefitting the local economy by “shopping local.” The Pub has been voted ‘Best of Savannah’ the past six years in a row.
“We are always looking for additional ways to get involved within the community and we are grateful to Green Truck for hosting Pint Night again this year,” said Ogeechee Riverkeeper Outreach and Water Quality Specialist Luke Roberson. “It’s a good reason to enjoy a burger and a beer with friends and family, while also supporting Ogeechee Riverkeeper’s mission and efforts.”
